Meet the Team

Career Info –  My recruitment career started all the way back in 2011 which certainly feels like a lifetime ago! Its been quite the journey! I am not ashamed to admit I was a recent graduate not knowing what I wanted to do as a career and somehow fell into education recruitment. I soon found out the industry could give me everything I was looking for and more, I am pleased to say I have not looked back! I now have over 12 years experience working across educational recruitment, working from trainee consultant to now managing director. Its been quite the journey and I am proud to say I am still learning and to looking improve each and every single day.

What always stand out about recruitment for me is the competitive nature of the role day in day out which always draws me back for more. If you are prepared to work hard consistently there is no ceiling to what is achievable. I am very proud and excited to be opening a brand new educational recruitment company right in my home town of Newquay. We have assembled a dynamic and robust team whom all are local to the Newquay area, where at Nova we have a great blend of experience, coupled with the enthusiasm and freshness of our new consultants who have recently joined the team. I strongly believe through our thorough planning, market knowledge and keen eye for detail the Nova education team is ready to really deliver on all our promises. Watch this space!

Outside of Recruitment – Outside of recruitment I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, my beautiful 20 month old Daughter and my dog Monty. When I have time I am still a keen sportsman in Golf, surfing. skiing or the gym. Feel very privileged to live in beautiful Cornwall where there is always somewhere new to explore.

Career Info – Coming up to 10 years within the industry, I am still as motivated and passionate as the day I started! Working within Further Education, I enjoy the fast paced and competitive nature of the market.  I now manage a team of 7 consultants looking to find the next Ollie Dart!  My role has gone from being leading consultant to now challenging the next generation to be best they can be. I now find supporting Nova’s new talent very rewarding and enjoying my journey into leadership. My style is very much set the bar with standards for others to follow so expectations are certainly high on team Dart!

Recruitment can be rewarding but its not all plain sailing! There are many ups and downs but I enjoy overcoming challenges and helping others to achieve their goals. Nova Education have a dedicated and supportive team and we strive to do our best for our clients and candidates.

Outside of Recruitment – I enjoy spending time with my young family. I have a 3 and 8 year old that keep me on my toes! I also enjoy playing football and Tennis

Career Info – Having initially worked in the charity sector, I never thought recruitment would be for me- now I can’t imagine myself in any other career! I started my journey building up my skills and experience on what makes a great consultant, for both our clients and candidates. I have always been highly motivated and competitive, which I believe are key attributes which allowed me to win the “Best new consultant” award in my first year.

Having been given the opportunity to thrive and follow my passions allowed me to progress into my next step – the International sector, where I re-built our relationships with our clients overseas and candidates looking to relocate abroad. This was a very tough but very rewarding journey, and gave me the opportunity to work on aspects of Business Development I hadn’t previously encountered.

The industry knowledge and skills I’ve acquired over the years have brought me into my current position as Business Development Manager. I am excited to continue working with our clients, both old and new, to continue delivering the best service we can across Nova. Outside of Recruitment – I enjoy a good book and am a huge F1 fan, as well as a big foodie and an avid traveller. Any book, food or travel recommendations are always welcome!

Career Info – Admittedly like many when setting out on my journey after University, I fell into the world of recruitment quite quickly. I could probably write my career to date in chapters… but ultimately 13 Years later I’m still confident there wouldn’t be a better industry to suit both my skills and my passions. I enjoy it’s dynamic and fast paced nature. I feel I have benefitted hugely from holding roles across Vetting, Contracts/Compliance and now the Consultancy side of recruitment and credit this rarer path largely as to why I believe I am one of the most well-rounded recruitment consultants you will meet. Another huge thing for me that I sadly think is lost on many, is that I’ve always respected that recruitment is very much a two and often three person process, and believe it’s this genuine understanding that sets me apart from others. Supporting people on their career journeys and into desired positions, and supporting clients with their staffing needs, never gets boring!

Last year I was the company’s top performing consultant, which in a place as competitive as here, I am extremely proud of. I am now mentoring my own small team as my journey at Nova and in recruitment continues.

Outside of Recruitment – Despite now living far away from my first home, I have never forgotten my roots of Luton, Bedfordshire. It gets a bad ‘Press’ but it’s home to many good people, including lifelong friends and family who I try to visit as much as I can, and it now also boasts a pretty decent football team who I love to follow, the mighty Hatters! My first love and personal football career was cut short through injury, but I still love certain sports including skiing and long coastal walks in my current home of Cornwall to stay active. Love music and travel, and life at home with long term partner and dog keeps me on my toes!

Career info – My career in recruitment started back in 2016 and it’s a choice I am really pleased to have made. I really enjoy the fast paced and competitive environment that recruitment is, whilst I get great satisfaction from helping people find their ideal jobs. Although I work across all areas of educational recruitment, I specialise in getting people into a career in education who may not have thought about that as a career path previously, and this is very rewarding. This includes Engineers or Construction tradespeople who are interested in passing on their knowledge and skills to the next generation. I have placed many unqualified teachers who now are fully qualified and thoroughly enjoy working in education. If anyone is reading this and thinking about getting in teaching please do not hesitate to get in touch, I am more than happy to help and run through the various avenues you can take to become a qualified teacher.

Outside of Recruitment – I am a keen surfer who loves to take this passion around the world to experience new countries and cultures.

Career Info – After completing my AAT and working in an accountancy practice for 6 years I wanted to change my career but keep within an office environment.

The opportunities for promotion, monthly/annual targets and a fast paced environment meant that recruitment was the perfect job for me. I started in August 2023 and haven’t looked back.  I enjoy the fun office environment and the different ways tasks are completed to keep me and the team motivated. I also like the social aspect outside of the office where everyone can relax and take a step back from the competitive environment in the office. No day is the same in recruitment and there are bad days, but these are outweighed by the great days of helping someone find their ideal job in education.

Outside of Recruitment – Living in Cornwall I enjoy the beaches and stand up paddleboarding in the ocean. I play football and pool competitively in my home town and hate losing.  When I can, I go to the emirates and watch Arsenal #COYG

Career Info – My journey at Nova began at the start of 2024, I am continuing to enjoy every day as I try as hard as I can to work up through the ranks! I find Nova a fun, action packed environment filled with lots of different ways to motivate the team on a daily basis. I like to push myself to the limit and want to be as successful as I possibly can which is why I felt the opportunity to work here was a no brainer!

Outside of Recruitment – I play football every week which I’ve loved since I can remember! I have supported Man United since I was young and also love to follow the Green Army home and away!!

Career Info – After working as a career’s adviser for many years, I wanted to join a local recruitment team where I can support people in finding their dream role whilst working in a fun, fast-paced environment which I certainly believe I have found at Nova! I enjoy working in a motivated and encouraging environment, helping people achieve their goals of working within education; whilst working alongside a positive and encouraging team.

Outside of Recruitment – In my spare time I enjoy making the most of what Cornwall has to offer; visiting local coastal towns and daily walks with my dog coco on the beautiful beaches. I am a very sociable person and enjoy attending festivals and events across the country.

Career Info – After a dedicated 8 years working in back office operations where accuracy, efficiency and organisational qualities are paramount, I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone and embrace a new challenge in sales. Having existing knowledge of the business has been a great advantage so far, allowing me to adapt quickly and perform with confidence. I can’t wait to see what this year has to bring for me in Nova!

Outside of Recruitment – In my spare time, you’ll see me at the gym mainly! But I also like to read books and spend time with my friends and family where I can.

Career Info – I have spent the last 9 years in New Zealand working in the farming sector and the tourism industry. These industries have both taught me valuable skills that will take me through life. Farming created determination and hard work and tourism gave me the ability to communicate strongly with a wide range of people.

The ability to work with people and create a future tailored to their needs is why I’s so passionate about recruitment. The environment at Nova is perfect for creating success it’s fast paced, competitive and exciting while at the same time supportive and encouraging.

Outside of Recruitment – I’m always doing something active; Cycling is probably the main activity. Used to do a lot of downhill biking but now mostly road and endurance rides. Snowboarding, surfing and the gym are my other hobbies.

Career Info – I started working in administration and hospitality right after I finished school in Australia. This allowed me to develop a strong skill set of customer service and administration experience before I moved to the UK, at the start of this year.

Recruitment wasn’t a career choice I was expecting to make but after seeing what Nova Education does and the how the team works, I have no regrets. The friendly competitiveness and supportive environment both challenges and encourages you to be the best recruiter you can be. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me and how far I’ll continue to develop at Nova!

Outside of Recruitment – I love exploring the small parts of the UK in my spare time, often doing one day road trips from one side of the country to the other. When I’m not travelling, I’m at the beach with friends or cozied up under a blanket watching films and reading books.

Career Info – I have spent the last 9 years working within the Estate agent/holiday home sales industry and when I was looking for a new challenge I came across Nova Education.

I’m looking forward to starting this chapter and helping people secure their new roles within education.

Outside of Recruitment – Outside of work you’ll probably find me in the gym, outside enjoying the Cornish beaches, with my head in a book or away seeing my partner.

Career Info – I recently worked in the car finance industry, where I developed strong customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. After relocating to Cornwall, I’m excited to bring the same energy and dedication to this role. I thrive in dynamic and competitive settings where no two days are the same which is why I’m excited to be joining Nova Education team.

Outside of Recruitment – Living in Cornwall I love any chance to be in the sea and go on costal hikes with my mates. I also have a passion for going to the gym and playing the guitar.
